Campaigners have welcomed a new online petition calling on the Government to address the discriminatory way the DNA database is currently used within the Crime and Security Bill.
Race equality experts warn that the database now poses one of the most serious threats to race relations to date. They say that there is a danger that it will shatter the communities trust in crime prevention agencies if the Government does not put this right and commit to deleting the records of every single person from the DNA database. Every year I find myself commenting on black on black violence. It is soul destroying as there seems to be no end to it. Suggestions abound as to how we can stop the knife crime, people are marching in the streets but is it getting through?
Whilst concerned citizens plead for the nonsense to stop guns and knives are still readily available to any kid who wants one. The police talk a good show but seriously how come there are so many guns on the streets?

Cases of fraudsters trying to steal people's bank details more than tripled in the first three months of the year compared with the same period in 2007. UK payments association Apacs said there were 10,235 so-called phishing attacks in the first quarter of the year, up from 3,394. Con-artists send unsolicited emails asking the recipient to enter their bank details and security codes. They then use the data to empty online accounts of funds.
Sandra Quinn, director of communications at Apacs, said: "Phishing scams are continuing to rise and they are becoming ever more sophisticated.
