Lorraine commented on how nice Will was and how she wished more stars were like him.

He is a nice guy but even nice guys lose their cool sometimes.

Smith was caught on camera slapping a reporter who kissed him on the mouth. Oops!

The reporter walked up to Smith on the red carpet and tried to hug him first, then kissing him on both cheeks before trying for the lips. Smith responded with a backhanded slap to the face, angrily asking, “Come on man, what the hell is your problem?”

Apparently the Ukrainian born reporter is known for playing pranks on celebrities.

Whilst Facebook floated it’s shares on the stock market this week, Google has made changes to it’s Gmail and YouTube services.

In a bid to make it’s social network, Google+ more socialable, the company have added Google+ options to it’s email and video services.

The upgrade to Google’s webmail client improves on the implementation of the Circles feature added in December. Now, says Google on its company blog: “When you select a circle, you’ll now see profile photos of people in that circle at the top right of the page.

The company has also added a new feature which allows you to search for Circles conversations within the Gmail search bar.

Users can find messages by typing “circle:[circle name]” into the search box and you can find mails from anyone in your circles contacts by typing “has:circle”.

Google has also added some useful functionality based around contacts. When you type a person’s name into the search box all of their contact details will appear at the top of the page.

YouTube tweaked too

YouTube also got tweaked as the company removed the +1 feature which didn’t do much really and added a share button that lets you post to Twitter, Facebook, or Google+.

New Google+ share button

Join Google+ and watch the tumbleweed blow through

The question is, will these new tweaks entice more users to Google+? The social networks has 170 million users, but just how active are they? According to a new study from RJ Metrics, user engagement on Google+ is terrible.

The report reveals that an average Google+ user posts once every 12 days, whilst 30 percent of all user make one post never make second. And even after a user has posted five times, there’s still a 15 percent chance the user will never post again. Visitors are spending on average three minutes a month on Google+, as compared to the average 405 minutes per month on Facebook, adds the report.

“From what we can see from the outside looking in, Google Plus has a long way to go before it becomes a real threat to the social networking landscape. While user growth is strong, it is unclear how much of that is driven by tie-ins with other Google products,” says the report.

The service will be using Radio Tactics’ Aceso Kiosk, a touch-screen device that will be deployed in 16 boroughs across the city. According to the company, the device can pull data like call history, photos, videos, and email and social networking info from a phone in an average of 20 minutes.

The kiosk can pull data from the phone itself, as well as from any memory or SIM cards it carries, and it also works with USB flash drives and portable GPS units.

More than 300 Met Police employees will be trained to use the device, and the service says that it’s being implemented mainly to increase speed.

Currently suspected mobile devices are sent to a digital forensics lab for processing, but the Aceso Kiosk means that processing can be done while the suspect remains in custody.

“Our ability to act on forensically-sound, time-critical information, from SMS to images contained on a device quickly gives us an advantage in combating crime, notably in terms of identifying people of interest quickly and progressing cases more efficiently,” said the Met Police’s Stephen Kavanagh.

John Reese – Person of Interest

Privacy International accused police of being too cagey about the technology. They are looking at possible breach of human rights law. Spokeswoman Emma Draper said: ‘We need a full and frank disclosure of how and when and why this system will be used.’

“It is illegal to indefinitely retain the DNA profiles of individuals after they are acquitted or released without charge, and the communications, photos and location data contained in most people’s smartphones is at least as valuable and as personal as DNA.”

A Scotland Yard spokesman said the systems will help them combat offenders who use mobile phones for crime.

We say it’s yet another erosion of our freedom. It’s one thing to watch ex-CIA hitman, John Reese extract data from a bad guy’s mobile phone in Person of Interest but ish just got real.

What do you think?

It is believed the American singer, best known for hits including I Feel Love and Love To Love You Baby, had been fighting cancer.

A family statement said: “Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Summer’s publicist Brian Edwards said the family wanted donations to be made in her honour to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers.

Summer, who was born LaDonna Gaines in Boston, learned to sing in church before fronting a series of bands and appearing in musicals. Working as a session singer brought her into contact with producers Giorgio Moroder and Pete Bellotte and together they established her as one of the biggest acts of the 1970s.

The extended 16-minute version of Love To Love You Baby was a huge hit in the clubs, but was banned from several radio stations because of her suggestive vocal style. The 1976 hit made her a star and she found even greater success in 1977 with I Feel Love, which again featured the hypnotic electronic disco beats of the pioneering Moroder.

Producer Quincy Jones paid tribute on Twitter, writing: “Rest in Peace dear Donna Summer. Your voice was the heartbeat and soundtrack of a decade.” Kylie Minogue described her as “one of my earliest musical inspirations”.

Record producer Pete Waterman, who worked with Summer in the 1980s, said his abiding memory was of “a lovely person”. He said: “Whenever you were with her she made you feel so special. She had all the talent but she gave you all the credit. She was not a diva in any shape or form.”

The singer teamed up with Stock Aitken Waterman in the late 1980s when she had alienated many fans with alleged anti-gay remarks. Waterman said: “She was in the wilderness when we had the biggest record of our careers together.

“They warned us against working with her because of the whole anti-gay thing that had happened. But what a voice she had. She used to warm up in the ladies toilet and everyone in our building would stop and it would come to a standstill to hear her warm up.”

According to the Financial Times the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has launched a probe of Facebook’s proposed acquisition of Instagram that could delay the closing of the deal.

Most mergers valued at more than $66 million must be reported to the FTC, and preliminary reviews by the agency are common. But the investigation of Facebook for any competition issues could upset its plans to close the deal by the end of June.

Maxwell Blecher, an antitrust attorney with Blecher & Collins, said an antitrust probe would likely take at least a month.

“If they go into it further and they issue additional requests for information that could probably take up to six months,” he told IDG News Service.

The FTC has already collected information from at least two of Facebook’s largest competitors, according to the FT report, which cited unnamed sources. Facebook will not be able to integrate Instagram’s service with its social networking platform before the deal is finalized.

That delay could hurt Facebook’s efforts to strengthen its mobile strategy. Facebook has said in regulatory filings that its revenue will suffer as users increasingly access its service from mobile devices rather than PCs.

New York Times blog, Bits poses an interesting view: Could the government be interested in whether the company is killing off a potential rival by swallowing it up?

Facebook today is the dominant social network, and it commands the lion’s share of advertising in the social network market. Instagram had no advertisements, but it could have one day started to attract advertisements.

That would have meant real competition for Facebook, especially on mobile devices, where the social network has been unable to, by its own admission, generate “meaningful revenue.”

A rival that happens to be hugely popular on mobiles could have potentially driven down advertising prices.

Facebook announced last month that it planned to buy Instagram for about $1 billion in cash and stock. Competition experts believe the deal will ultimately be approved.

I’ve heard some men say they don’t like weaves or make up but women insist on spending money on them.

Some men do however, like a big butt on a woman. Is this why some women will go to crazy extents to enhance their buttocks, including illegal operations?

A Los Angeles woman has become a multiple amputee after unlicensed buttock enhancement injections led to near-fatal infections.

Amputee April Brown

April Brown lost her hands and feet to infection after the cosmetic procedure left her in “excruciating pain” for five years.

The former cosmetologist, fashion designer and mother-of-two said the injections were done at what was called a “pumping party”. The injections contained industrial grade silicone.

Ms Brown has refused to identify the person who gave her the buttock injections, saying her self-esteem issues were to blame.

Ms Brown is one of many people left seriously hurt by unlicensed buttock injections.

Last year a London tourist died after undergoing the procedure in a hotel room in Philadelphia.

Six women in New Jersey were hospitalised after receiving injections of silicone commonly used to waterproof bathtubs.

Last year in Florida, a transgender woman was arrested for injecting a patient’s buttocks with a combination of cement

and tyre sealant.

I have to ask this question: What will it take for women to be happy with what they have?

Isn’t it better to accentuate what you love about yourself and accept what you don’t? We can’t all be video vixens, and quite frankly we shouldn’t be trying to be.

People come in all shapes and sizes, that’s what makes us different and believe me different is good.

Within the acquisition announcement, Yell has made it clear that Moonfruit senior management team have a golden handcuffs deal that will see retention bonuses of £5.2 million paid for staying at the company for two years.

According to Moonfruit CEO Wendy Tan White, Yell was one of three companies in discussion to acquire the business. Although it wasn’t the maximum price offered, she felt that Yell provided the best home for the business. This is because Yell — which earned £2 billion in 2011 — is undergoing its own transformation from a print and online advertising company to a digital marketplace for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This “eMarketplace” strategy focuses on providing a broad range of digital services to help small businesses grow and transact online.

The acquisition of Moonfruit will help Yell to advance this strategy by providing the technology for businesses to build websites, mobile sites and ecommerce services. Moonfruit was founded in 2000 and, since then, almost five million websites and 230,000 online shops have been built using Moonfruit.com technology.

Incarcerated Dancehall star, Vybz Kartel and prominent American-Jamaican businessman, Corey Todd are apparently back in business and have offered explanations regarding their highly publicized split almost a year ago.

The Examiner reports that the long-time business partners are to reunite after agreeing to a business deal which involves reviving the Street Vybz Rum brand which became a highly popular entity between 2009 and 2011. During their association, Kartel and Todd also created the Vybz Rum brand, Daggering Condoms and later co-owned operations at the Building (now Club Riddim) where they birthed the Street Vybz Thursdays party series.

However, Kartel and Todd’s partnership fizzled last May after the American businessman alleged that the Portmore Empire deejay threatened him while alleging that Kartel wasn’t fully committed to their business ventures. Now, nearly nine months after Vybz Kartel was arrested and later charged with murder, drug and obstruction of justice related charges in separate cases, the internationally acclaimed artiste and Todd have settled their differences in order to re-ignite their once successful alliance.

In a statement, Todd revealed that he and Kartel started talking back to each other shortly after the deejay’s incarceration.

“We started communicating shortly after his incarceration; it was our intention not to make this public knowledge until his release however we can no longer patiently wait for that day. I wish be a voice that will help bring forth his freedom because I can attest his only guilt is association,” he said.

With regards to why he and Kartel split, Todd insists that this came down to the people around the self-proclaimed ‘Worl’ Boss,’ but also relents that their strong personalities clashed as time elapsed.

“The associates that led to his incarceration are the same associates that cause our partnership to end at the time, but I must add that our egos also clashed. His arrest had a humbling effect on me and caused me to reflect on my own actions. I then lost interest in my present projects and made artistes involved aware that I wish discontinue, this around November,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a statement said to be from Kartel, he echoed Todd’s sentiment, stating that the rift between them was based on miscommunication while admitting that the American entrepreneur was one of his closest friends.

Unemployment in the capital fell by 1,000 to 426,000 in the three months to March, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

Nationally, the jobless ranks dropped by 45,000 and the number of dole claimants fell for the second consecutive month. The jobless total was 2.6 million in the quarter to March, the lowest the figure has been since last summer.

The Government has welcomed the news but admitted there were too many people in part-time jobs who wanted full-time work.

The number of people in work increased by 105,000 to almost 30 million, but this was entirely due to a rise in part-time workers.

Almost eight million people are now in a part-time job, the highest since records began in 1992, while those working part-time because they cannot find full-time work increased by 73,000 to a record high of 1.4 million. Self-employment has also reached a record figure of 4.1 million, up by 89,000 since the previous quarter.

Prime Minister David Cameron said the unemployment figures were “welcome” news but that the Government was “not remotely complacent”, telling the Commons: “It’s welcome that we have had the largest rise in employment for over a year, the number of people in work since the last election is up by 370,000, private sector jobs are up by 600,000.

“We are not remotely complacent about this because although there is good news about youth unemployment and the claimant count coming down, there is still too many people in part-time work who want full-time work, and also we still have the challenge of tackling long-term unemployment.”

The 13,700 fall in the so-called claimant count last month was the biggest since July 2010.

But other figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the number of people unemployed for more than a year increased by 27,000 to 887,000, the worst total since 1996.

Unite general secretary Len McCluskey said: “The Chancellor has created a part-time, low-pay Britain with his austerity programme – a political path that is increasingly being rejected by other European countries, France being the most prominent example.”

TUC general secretary Brendan Barber said: “The falling number of full-time jobs and the 6% fall in real wages over the last two years means that people are having to make huge salary sacrifices and put their careers on hold just to stay in work.”

President Barack Obama teased football star David Beckham about his age and his outside interests – saying it is a “rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear”.

Mr Obama welcomed former England captain Beckham and the rest of the Los Angeles Galaxy team to the White House to celebrate its third Major League Soccer title.

The president joked about the all-star lineup of Galaxy, led by Beckham.

Mr Obama told the 37-year-old Briton that half of his teammates “could be his kids… We’re getting old, David”.

The president said the model and athlete was “holding up better than me”.

Beckham gained widespread attention in the US in February when H&M aired adverts for his new underwear collection during the Super Bowl, the showpiece finale of the NFL American football season.
