Youth on attempted murder charge
Police have charged a teenager with the attempted murder of a boy left fighting for his life after a stabbing.
The 14-year-old victim was attacked on Tuesday in Great Dover Street, Southwark, south London, after a row with a group of youths, and he remains in a critical condition five days later.
He is believed to have suffered wounds to the chest and stomach.
After receiving first aid at the scene, he was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital.
Officers have charged a 16-year-old boy over the incident.
He is due to appear at Camberwell Youth Court in south London on Monday, Scotland Yard said.
The boy he is alleged to have attacked was stabbed near a student halls of residence in Great Dover Street.
Officers examined CCTV footage from the halls of residence as part of their investigation into the incident.
They arrested the 16-year-old from Catford, who cannot be named because of his age, on Thursday in connection with the stabbing.
